The three-strand braids are great for getting your hair out of your face quickly and conveniently but sometimes a girl needs something a little more special. When you are going somewhere nice (and you aren’t doing your hair on the bus) it is well worth taking a minute to create something that looks incredible and makes you feel like a million dollars. I cam across this swirl braid on Pinterest and fell in love. It looks like a modern-day fairytale hairstyle and will make you feel like an absolute queen! This tutorial will break it down step-by-step so it is easy and fun. I would like to see you with your finished looks so don’t forget to #wearcliphair when you are done.
Step number 1: Prepare your hair
This is a heat freestyle so it is kind to your locks and great for looking glam on those days when you are on a heated tool break. To begin your look, add your Cliphair extensions. Balayage looks are great with this style as it works with the flowy effect. Brush and blend extensions then create a side part and bring hair over your right shoulder
Step number 2: Form your swirl
To form your swirl separate a 2-inch section of your hair to your right. Begin to wrap this section over and around the rest of your hair. If you have layered hair you may want to twist it before wrapping. As you are wrapping take a 2-inch section of hair from the left and join it with your first section to maintain the thickness and length of this strand. You will be repeating this a few times so you will notice a ladder effect start to form
Step number 3: Finish your braid
Once you repeat step 2 all the way to the end of your hair, it is time to complete your look. You are going to tug section 1 gently to fan it out. This is the section that you were wrapping around so make sure that you don’t pull it out. This will help your braid look even all the way down. If I have some hair left at the end of my braid I spray a little hair spray on it and wrap small sections of it around my finger to create mini curls. Once you are happy with your look to add hairspray all over.
