Comedienne Grace Helbig is a self-confessed expert in ‘pretending to have it.’ She might not know what it is, but that’s kinda part of her charm. The author and breakout YouTube star is just as bewildered with being a grown up as the rest of us. That’s why we like her so much.
She also has fantastic hair, but you’ve probably guessed that already. For a pretend grown-up, Helbig seems to be pretty good at showcasing her talent. Her YouTube channel, It’s Grace, has over 3 million subscribers and more than 236 million video views. She’s also just signed a deal to write and produce a trio of romantic comedies.
So, let’s take a closer look at Grace Helbig and see if pinching any of her hairstyles will give us a little bit of that good luck and charm.
The Classic Grace
This look is really simple, but it positively screams winter chic, even with the oversized sunnies. The turtleneck and poker straight hair are a classic combination because turtlenecks are notoriously difficult to wear. Unless you want to look like a dinner lady, you’ve got to keep those locks long and relaxed. Helbig is getting it right here, with just enough volume and body. Try brushing your hair outwards, from underneath, to get that slight lift and roundness at the temples. If you’re wearing hair extensions be gentle; use slow, deliberate strokes.
The Show Pony
Is there anything more adorable than Grace Helbig after a long flight? This girl even looks good with jetlag. She’s kept things basic, as you should for a trip, and pulled her locks into a high, broad ponytail. The key to this low maintenance ‘do is being able to chill out and let your hair speak for itself. Sometimes, it doesn’t matter if your roots are showing. It doesn’t matter that you haven’t had time to wash and condition. With a winning smile and a strong enough hair band, you can light up the day.
The Wedding Experiment
As anybody who follows Helbig on YouTube or Instagram will know, she’s not always confident in her own skills. Take this gorgeous wedding ‘do, for example. The actress was astonished at having put together something so pretty, so easily. It’s a beautiful rolled ‘updo, with the hair coiled and pinned close to the nape of the neck. It’s called the Gibson Roll and you create it by, first, making a loose ponytail. Then, lift the pony and slot it through the hair above the nape of your neck. Pull it through in a kind of loop and then tuck the tail behind the twisted roll.
The Pastel Princess
We love this subtle look that Helbig wore to the American Billboard Awards. That ever so slight hint of pink is just divine. We’re glad that the stylish star knew just how far to go with the colour, because it wouldn’t be the same if she’s opted for full-on hot pink. It is the kind of highlight that sparkles in just the right light. You can get steal it with the use of hair chalk dyes, which tend to be semi-permanent and easy to use. Or, you can add some pale coloured clip in highlights to your natural hair for an instant boost.
