Some hair and beauty techniques may have gone viral or ended up trending, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re all that great. Excessive use of products like foundation or serums in makeup tutorials have been accused of being clickbait and can seriously harm your skin if carried out. Excessively smothering your face in too much product, whether it’s makeup or skincare, is definitely not ideal – or needed. Other controversial trends include the ‘it girl’, ‘bimbocore’ and ‘mob wife’ aesthetic, all of which encapsulate early 2000s fashion in a new and daring way but aren’t always well recieved by other users. Whether it’s dodgy DIY fringes or botched skincare routines, some niche trends aren’t always meant to be followed!
