With Avengers: Age of Ultron currently whipping up a storm at box offices all over the world, British bombshell Hayley Atwell (or Agent Peggy Carter, as she is more well-known) has become seriously hot property. This English rose has been catapulted into the limelight after many years spent playing sophisticated and complex characters on national television.
As the release date for the highly anticipated Marvel epic Ant-Man gets closer, fans of Hayley Atwell get ever more excited, as it has now been confirmed that Peggy Carter will have a role in the movie. It’s not just superhero films in which Atwell has shone, however, as she has also played parts in Black Mirror, The Duchess, and the new Cinderella.
At ClipHair, we are big fans of Atwell, mostly because she always looks amazing, but still manages to retain a sense of humility and grace which is unusual for Hollywood red carpets. At the 2015 Baftas, she was photographed sporting a wardrobe malfunction (her dress had split at the seams), but instead of looking awkward or embarrassed, she just flashed that beautiful smile.
In celebration of the imminent release of Ant-Man, here are a few of our favourite Hayley Atwell hairstyles, and a few more tricks on how you can steal them for yourself.
The Pretty Pompadour
At the Moet British Independent Film Awards, Hayley teased her dark locks into an elegant and high pompadour, which gave her look an almost regal feel. There was a slightly French vibe to her outfit and her hairstyle, as the height and ‘almost quiff’ are very continental. This style can be a little tricky to replicate, because it takes a lot of gentle teasing and the hair needs to be voluminised with a lot of backcombing and hairspray first. It’s a great choice for a formal night out or dinner though, so get a friend in to help you get your pompadour off the ground.

The Fifties Curly Girl
It looks like Atwell has a real fondness for height and volume, because she is frequently snapped walking the red carpet wearing some amazing fifties and sixties style pompadours, beehives, and backcombed quiffs. This slightly simpler look still has that retro glamour to it, but takes things down a notch, and softens her features with a couple of choice ringlets. With an off centre parting and an elevated chignon, Hayley looks every bit the screen siren. If you want to steal this style, but your own tresses are too short, pick up an 18 or 20 inch clip in extension piece, and use it to give your natural locks a boost, before gently tying them up in a high bun or ponytail.

The Ravishing Down ‘Do
It should come as no surprise to find that Hayley Atwell does the down ‘do as well as she does the up ‘do, and this hairstyle is the epitome of sophistication and class. It may be simple – just a standard loose hairstyle, with an off centre parting, but its health and radiance is undeniable. We want to know what shampoo she’s using, because there’s a remarkable amount of shine in those natural tresses. If you’re lucky enough to have relatively straight hair, take your curling tongs and add some very loose and gentle curls, in order to steal this ‘do for yourself.
