That’s right, Reign is back! If you haven’t watched the previous seasons on Netflix then get cracking. This is the hottest show based around the rivalry between Queen Elizabeth and Mary Queen of Scotts. We don’t just love it because they have violin versions of our favourite pop songs but the fashion and styles are absolutely to die for! Going with the Elizabethan style long hair was a must and they have been so creative with styling. It isn’t easy to blend new styles with old world charm so if you are looking for inspiration, look no further than Reign.
A crown worth praising
This Queen’s main accessory is her crown and Adelaide Kane (who plays Mary Queen of Scotts) rocks it with pride. If unlike Adelaide’s character you aren’t a princess, officially anyways, why not try an accessory of a different kind. Spring has finally arrived and that means that we are seeing more colours both on the trees and in our wardrobes. So why not take the theme and run with it? Flower crowns, no pun intended, are a wonderful way to shake up a half up half down style and make you feel like a queen yourself, even if it is only just for the day.
Messy goes royal
Well we have all used a messy style when we are late for work or the day after a big night but this season we are seeing messy become high end. Queen Elizabeth played by Rachel Skarsten is rocking a look that we have seen is drones during London Fashion Week. Teasing and volumising extensions are a must to turn this lazy day do into a style fit for a queen. We are in love with the pairing of Queen Elizabeth’s ginger locks with Rachel Skarsten’s peaches and cream complexion, it looks stunning. So if you have skin with a pink undertone, give it a go this spring.
Braid for the maid
Geer Norwood might be Mary’s last remaining lady’s maid and friend but Mary better watch her back if she doesn’t want her side kick to steal the show with her locks. Celina Sinden’s golden locks look stunning in a long, Repunzel like French braid. As XXL hair is the theme to this year’s style Geer is right on trend. We love the added period feel with a mid-parting and swept back sides. If your face is a lovely and symmetrical like Celina’s this look will be great for you too!
Curls to take a kingdom down
The French court’s bad girl Princess Claude is the cheekiest and most adventurous with her sense of style out of all the Reign women. Rose Williams looks spunky and cute with her mixture of small spiral curls and regally perfected waves. This is brilliant for a space bun or a half up half down with a twist. With the spring wind in full swing make sure you have your alcohol free hair spray or at the very least mousse ready for application.
